Most loading problems on a site without a dock are not solved by buying a bigger ramp. They are solved by putting a level, load-rated surface under the forklift — a surface you can move to wherever the work is this week. That is the entire design brief behind the HRPL mobile platform series.
What the HRPL Series Actually Is
The HRPL is a modular, towable steel platform: bolted deck panels on a fabricated load-rated frame, riding on heavy-duty swivel casters with a central tow bar. One person can push it across a smooth warehouse floor; a yard tractor can pull it across concrete outside. Catalog sizes are 6 t (13,230 lb), 15 t (33,070 lb) and 20 t (44,090 lb); the frame is quoted to order from 6 t to 50 t when the deck must fit a specific process rather than a catalog page.
It is not a scissor lift: the deck height is fixed, and you change working height by choosing a lower deck or bolting on an approach ramp. It is not a dock leveler either — a leveler bridges a gap under a fixed building opening, while the HRPL can be parked anywhere on site.
Why the 15-Tonne Frame Is the Volume Seller
Capacity is the forklift plus its load, not the goods alone. A 15 t (33,070 lb) platform suits a 7 t counterbalance truck — roughly 9,000 kg (19,840 lb) with a loaded mast — carrying a 3 t (6,610 lb) load: 12,000 kg before margin, about 15,000 kg with the 25 percent allowance every honest ramp engineer applies.
The 6 t model covers pallet jacks, stackers and 3 t reach trucks; the 20 t model is for heavy counterbalance traffic. The 15 t sits in the middle and is the size most plants settle on.
Frame, Deck and Mobility Specifications

|---|---|---|---|
| Rated load | 6 t (13,230 lb) | 15 t (33,070 lb) | 20 t (44,090 lb) |

| Castors | 8 × 200 mm (8 in) swivel, braked | 12 × 250 mm (10 in) swivel, braked | 16 × 300 mm (12 in) forged steel |
| Self-weight (typical) | 620 kg (1,367 lb) | 1,450 kg (3,197 lb) | 2,100 kg (4,630 lb) |
| Finish | Sand-blasted SA 2.5 + powder coat | Same, hot-dip galvanized optional | Same, hot-dip galvanized optional |
| Lead time (EXW Foshan) | 15–20 working days | 20–25 working days | 25–30 working days |
| Indicative price (EXW, USD) | 1,900–2,600 | 2,800–4,300 | 3,600–5,600 |
Those prices are an indicative EXW band, not a quotation. Deck size, castor class and guardrail scope move the number more than tonnage does.
Five Decisions That Move the Price
Deck size before deck tonnage. A 15 t frame with a 2,000 × 1,500 mm (6’7″ × 4’11”) deck costs less than the same rating at 3,000 × 2,000 mm (9’10” × 6’7″), because steel is sold by the kilo. Send the largest pallet you handle and the truck turning circle.
Castor class. Rubber-tyred castors protect epoxy floors but cost more and carry less point load. Forged steel castors last longer outdoors, and they will mark soft flooring.
Braking and jack legs. Braked castors on every wheel are standard. If anyone works under a loaded deck, specify jack legs instead of trusting castor brakes with a person’s weight above them.
Guardrail and access. Bolt-on handrails and a personnel stair turn a drive-on deck into a compliant work area. If people use the deck as well as trucks, the rail set is part of the safety file, not an accessory.
Approach ramp length. A 900 mm (2’11.4″) deck with a 5,000 mm (16’5″) ramp sits at about 18 percent gradient; a 3,600 mm (11’10”) ramp gives 25 percent, too steep for a loaded truck. Pick the deck height first, then the ramp follows.
What to Send Us Before We Quote
Six details get you a dimensioned drawing and a firm EXW price within one business day: forklift model, service weight and maximum load; deck size; indoor or outdoor use and floor type; whether people work on the deck; how it will be moved; and the destination port.
You can compare the catalog sizes on the Lightweight Mobile Platforms category page. The 6-tonne modular platform is the entry point, the 15-tonne custom platform is the version most plants order once they know their truck weights, and the 20-tonne multi-function deck is for heavy counterbalance traffic.
Packing, Shipping and Site Assembly
Platforms ship knocked down and bolt together on site with hand tools: a 6 t unit flat-packs four to six sets into a 40’HQ container, a 15 t unit two to three, a 20 t unit one to two. Assembly of a 15 t deck takes two people about half a day on a level floor, and every unit ships with CE documentation, a load test record and a packing list that matches the crate markings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a 15-tonne mobile platform really be moved by hand?
On smooth, level concrete, yes: an empty 15 t deck weighs about 1,450 kg (3,197 lb), and twelve braked swivel castors let two people reposition it. On rough asphalt or a slope, use a tow tractor.
What is the difference between the HRPL and a scissor lift table?
The HRPL keeps a fixed deck height and moves horizontally; a scissor lift changes height but stays in one place unless it has its own wheels. If your process needs both, we build custom decks with powered lift sections on request.
Do I need an approach ramp to drive onto the platform?
Only if the deck is high. A 600 mm (1’11.6″) deck can be approached with a short ramp; a 1,200 mm (3’11.2″) deck needs about 5,000 mm (16’5″) to stay near an 18 percent gradient. We size the ramp from your deck height and truck ground clearance.
How long does delivery take to the US or Europe?
Production is 20–25 working days for a 15 t unit after drawing approval. Sea freight from Foshan to Los Angeles runs about 22–28 days, and to Rotterdam or Hamburg about 32–38 days, plus customs clearance at destination.
