Edge of Dock Leveler
Edge of Dock Levelers – The Budget Bridge for Existing Docks
An edge-of-dock (EOD) leveler mounts directly to the dock face instead of a pit, making it the most economical way to serve trailers at an existing wall. If your dock was built without levelers — or you need to add a bay quickly — EOD is the fastest route.
Two Operating Options
Mechanical (push-pull): spring-assisted, no power needed; the operator pulls the handle to release the deck and push the lip onto the trailer. See the mechanical EOD leveler / dock ramp plate.
Hydraulic: push-button deck and lip control for higher traffic and less operator effort.
Specifications
Capacity: 6–10 t dynamic ratings
Service range: typically +100 mm above / −150 mm below dock level
Install: face-mounted or pit-mounted, 1–2 days by a small crew
Safety: rated return springs, lip lock, optional dock bumpers and seals
When EOD Is the Right Choice
Choose EOD when trailer heights are fairly consistent and traffic is light-to-medium. For wider height swings, heavy cycles, or new construction, a pit-style hydraulic dock leveler will pay back in daily usability.
Hanmoke supplies both styles factory-direct with mounting templates and anchor kits. Tell us your dock height and trailer fleet for a sizing recommendation.
Does an EOD leveler need a pit?
No. It bolts to the dock face (or a shallow recess), which is why it is the standard retrofit choice.
Can it handle a loaded forklift?
Yes — capacities of 6–10 t dynamic cover loaded forklift traffic at moderate cycle rates.
How much height variation can it serve?
Typically about +100 / −150 mm around dock level; beyond that choose a pit-style or telescopic leveler.
